Happy 40th to Patrick Carney of the Black Keys…one of Akron’s finest.  Back in 1994 Patrick bought a 1964 Daphne Blue Fender mustang guitar for $175.  He found it in the paper and it was $400 bucks cheaper than buying a new one.  It was just like Kurt Cobain’s guitar and he loved it.  A few years later he dropped it and messed it up bad.  So he traded it for a bass from his friend Andy, who sold it to his brother…who covered it with stickers and then traded it for a neck tattoo.  So just a week or so again, Patrick sees an ad for what could be the same guitar. The ad said it had been refurbished in Akron at Lay's Guitar Shop...but it's being sold from a seller in Texas.  Patrick takes a chance….and buys it.  You got it…it was his original guitar….Happy Birthday Patrick Carney of the Black Keys.
